Correlation between antioxidant depletion kinetic model and ageing behaviour of cross‐linked polyethylene cable insulation

چکیده
A concise kinetic model catering for the antioxidant reaction of thermally aged cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) cable insulation before its abrupt performance deterioration is proposed life prediction and condition assessment. The alternating current breakdown strength, elongation at break, carbonyl index, pyrolysis activation energy XLPE are found to consistently display an change a certain point ageing time. This strongly correlated depletion whose content gradually decreases with time drops critical value, after which degradation above macroscopic performances happens. Based on simplified chain reactions during thermal-oxidative ageing, about accordingly established by solving chemical kinetics equations. It indicates that decays reciprocal occurs. Results predicted different temperatures matches well experimental results, reliability can also be proved Arrhenius relationship obtained results. herein demonstrates satisfying conciseness thus highly feasible in assessment predicting insulation.
